Our approach
We recognise that healthcare products are only one part of improving lives. And we know that when it comes to protecting the environment and improving community wellbeing, we are all in this together. Building trust within and between communities is important to Convatec, and so we measure our community engagement through:
- Our socio-economic contribution
- Our community investment programme
- Grants for education and research

Building resilience and improving health
We are committed to standing with communities in moments that matter and helping to build long-term resilience. Our support spans humanitarian response, essential product donations and initiatives that strengthen healthcare knowledge and practice. We focus on three areas where we believe we are best positioned to move the needle:
- Health and healthcare access: Closing the care gap is an important part of our Forever Caring promise. The shifting nature of healthcare systems means that communities play a crucial role in health access and outcomes.
- Education: We invest in programmes that build clinical capability and expand access to high‑quality healthcare education, supporting healthcare professionals and communities to improve outcomes over time.
- Disaster relief: We provide targeted support to help our communities recover from crises, working with trusted partners to deliver essential products and assistance where health systems are under strain.
In addition to our commitments to partnerships that may involve product and monetary donations in the above areas, we also encourage our employees to take at least two days annually to volunteer in their local communities.
Tackling health inequities
As global healthcare megatrends shift - with increased life expectancies and rise of chronic conditions - more care is happening in the home. And communities play an important role in evolving healthcare systems.
In 2023, Convatec launched a three-year, $2 million partnership with the international NGO Partners In Health (PIH), united by a mission to improve access to chronic care and strengthen community health systems through innovative Community Health Worker (CHW) programmes. Focused on Mexico, Peru and the United States, the partnership supports scalable local solutions, cross site learning and practical knowledge exchange.
Working alongside PIH, we’re helping to strengthen how CHWs are recruited, trained and supported, while building community centred models of care and using data more effectively to reach people who need help most. Collectively, we’re contributing to more equitable, accessible health systems.
Across all three sites, we have now equipped 1,142 CHWs, enabling them to deliver vital support to more than 256,825 people. Our contribution of over $1 million in Convatec dressing products has also expanded access to essential treatment, directly supporting more than 44,000 patients.
So far, our partnership has focused on:
Strengthening care (Mexico): 76 CHWs supported across rural communities, delivering home based care to 4,948 people in 887 households. The programme is expanding skills through ongoing training and supervision, helping CHWs provide trusted, community centred support.
Expanding mental health support (Peru): CHWs have completed more than 32,578 home visits for people living with schizophrenia, with 859 individuals receiving ongoing community‑based care. The model is strengthening continuity of care and deepening collaboration with the Ministry of Health.
Building agency (North Carolina): In North Carolina, 970 CHWs are engaged in regional networks, advocacy training and leadership development, contributing to improved access for 200,503 people across the state.
Spending time with those around us
Forever Caring Month is our annual moment to celebrate how we bring our values ot life in our communities. We do this by encouraging colleagues around the world to support causes close to their hearts. Throughout the campaign, teams use their volunteering days to contribute time, skills and energy to local organisations, strengthening connections and building pride across Convatec. It's an expression of our Forever Caring promise, empowering colleagues to make a positive difference where they live and work.
Socio-economic contribution
Through running our business, we aim to make a socio-economic contribution to society. This contribution is important to a range of stakeholders. See more information on page 47 of our 2025 Annual Report.
We are fully committed to meeting our legal tax obligations in each of the countries in which we operate. We fully support and embrace greater transparency with tax authorities and the initiatives being introduced by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and governments to ensure clarity and adherence to the tax laws of each jurisdiction in which we operate.
