Convatec announces leadership appointments to strengthen Science, Innovation, Quality and Regulatory Affairs
London, UK, 4 June 2026 – Convatec, a leading medical products and technologies company focused on solutions for the management of chronic conditions, today announced the appointments of Dr Neal Carty as Chief Science & Innovation Officer and Clare Holden as Chief Quality & Regulatory Affairs Officer, both joining the Convatec Executive Leadership Team.
The appointments reflect Convatec’s decision to create two separate, dedicated executive leadership roles for Science & Innovation and Quality & Regulatory Affairs, strengthening focus in areas that are critical to patient safety, regulatory confidence and the pace of innovation as Convatec continues to deliver its Accelerate strategy.
Dr Neal Carty will lead Convatec’s Science & Innovation organisation, including R&D and Medical & Clinical Affairs teams, bringing 20 years experience to the role, including 6 years at Convatec building advanced capabilities and leading R&D across the company’s care categories.
Clare Holden will lead the company’s Quality & Regulatory Affairs organisation, drawing on 25 years industry experience, including 7 years at Convatec in leadership roles across three of the four Convatec care categories, as well as recent responsibility for Regulatory Affairs.
After more than six years with the business, Dr Divakar Ramakrishnan, Chief Science, Innovation & Quality Officer, has decided to leave the company in June to pursue a new opportunity, having delivered substantial transformation during his tenure.
Jonny Mason, Chief Executive Officer, said: “The changes we are announcing will further strengthen executive leadership in two critically important areas for Convatec and reflect the scale of opportunity ahead of us. Neal and Clare are highly respected colleagues with deep expertise, strong judgment and a clear understanding of how to lead in close partnership across these teams as we deliver our Accelerate strategy and accelerated sustainable and profitable growth. These appointments further reflect the depth of Convatec’s internal leadership pipeline and commitment to developing talent from within.
“We are very grateful for Divakar’s substantial contribution. In recent years, Convatec has transformed research and development capabilities, accelerated new product development, and positioned the company for sustained, innovation-led growth. Convatec’s vitality index has strengthened steadily from c.10% to c.30%, with 16 new product launches underway since 2022. I’d like to thank Divakar for his leadership as he leaves the business and we wish him well for the future.”
Commenting on their appointments, Dr Neal Carty, Chief Science & Innovation Officer, said: “I am honoured to take on this role at an important moment for Convatec. Science & Innovation plays a critical role in how we accelerate progress, strengthen our pipeline and deliver meaningful innovation for customers and the people who rely on our products. I look forward to working with colleagues across the business to build on the strong foundations already in place.”
Clare Holden, Chief Quality & Regulatory Affairs Officer, said: “Quality & Regulatory Affairs is fundamental to how Convatec ensures patient safety, consistently and with confidence. I am delighted to step into this role and to continue working closely with teams across the organisation to support high standards, strong execution and continued progress against our strategic priorities.”
Dr Divakar Ramakrishnan said: “It has been a privilege to be part of Convatec for the past six years and to work alongside so many talented colleagues across the business. Convatec is a very special business making a real difference to millions of people’s lives every year. I am proud of what we have achieved together and leave with great confidence in the strength of the team and the opportunities ahead. I wish Jonny, Neal, Clare and the wider organisation every success for the future.”
